David Patten Woodruff’s First Journal (Transcribed)
At some point in his life he started and kept a journal. It was recorded on loose leaf paper,
legal size (8 1⁄2 x 14). After his first wife died (April 23, 1924 when he was 70) while he was alone he collected his journal papers and copied them by hand into a journal book. In the margins he wrote dates and notes. Also in his transcription he occasionally added additional information. From then on he continued to record his journal in this book. That book is now in the possession of David Woodruff, son of Torrey Woodruff, son of David Patten Woodruff. When I traveled to Idaho to collect scans of photos and information the Woodruffs there were very generous and I was able to scan DPW’s second journal.
